Mariliti Paulino remained unbeaten in the Diamond League with a win in Silesia

World and Olympic champion Mariliti Paulino claimed her fifth victory in the 400 meters of the Diamond League this Sunday in Silesia, Poland.

The Dominican gazelle stopped the clock in 48.66 seconds, trailing Bahrain's Salwa Eid Nasser who clocked 49.23 and Poland's Natalia Kazmarek 49.95.

Completing the race were Rashidad Adeleke of Ireland, 5000, Alexis Holmes of the United States, 50.01, Henrid Jaeger of Norway, 50.33, Leek Claver of the Netherlands, 50.46 and Sada Williams, 50.46, 50.8. .

World No. 1 Paulino leads the Diamond League with 40 points, followed by Kazmarek with 34 points and Claver with 23.

The Venezuelan sprinter had comfortably won the previous four races of the current season.

First on April 20, in Xiamen, China, he clocked 50.08. Poland's Natalia Kasmarek (50.29) and American Briton Wilson (51.26) are second and third.

On April 27, the Dominican won the second leg in Suzhou, China, with a time of 50.89, beating American Talitha Diggs (51.77) and Barbadian Sada Williams (52.00).

In the third stage, in Oslo, Norway, Paulino clocked 49.30 minutes, again beating Kazmarek (49.80) and North American Alexis Holmes (50.40).

On July 7, in Paris, France, Paulino set his personal best time (49.20), again beating Kazmarek (49.82), and Nassar (49.82).

The finals of the Diamond League will be held on September 13 in Brussels, Belgium, where the Dominican will look to be champions for the third year in a row.

Mariliti has been the 400m dash champion for the past two Diamond League seasons (2022 and 2023).

Last season he won the event in 49.58 seconds and became a two-time champion.
