At his celebration, he had a moment to encourage those affected by the disease:

“I want to tell people who are suffering from this type of disease not to see it as a disease, cancer is not a disease, it is a message. That's how I saw it at that time…”, he said.

He said that he would take life at least one day and try to reconnect his mind and body with the reality of life. “We only have one life and we have to protect it, start knowing that we only have one life. “Love ourselves more every day, love our environment and what we do,” he said.

Acosta Monsenor is the senator for the province of Nouvelle, a position he was re-elected for another 4 years in the May 19 elections.
