A new board of directors for the Supreme Council of Cooperatives (Cosucoop). | Alejandro Martinez Castaneda

Morelia, Michoacan.- Michoacan was represented on the new Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Cooperatives (Cosucoop), when José Guadalupe Bermudez Olivares, President of the Michoacan State Federation of Cooperatives “Lázaro Cárdenas del Río” was appointed to the position of second member.

At its Ordinary General Assembly in Mexico City, the National Cooperative Organization renewed its board of directors, leaving Victor Manuel Velasquez Rangel, of the Cruz Azul cooperative, as president, who pledged to continue strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.

At this gathering, the fruitful work of the outgoing president, José Guadalupe Armenta, who was at the head of the organization for 8 years, was recognized as an essential part of strengthening Cosucoop's presence in Mexican territory.

This organization seeks to be a representative of the national cooperative movement, to promote it as a development option for Mexican society, to promote the development of public policies in favor of cooperatives, and to contribute to the generation of employment and the fight against poverty, always under the umbrella of cooperative values ​​and principles.

In addition to Cruz Azul, Cosucoop includes the symbolic Pascual workers' cooperative, Luz y Fuerza del Centro, Ollini Multidiscipline Community Services and TRADOC, as well as the organizations of the National Cooperative Alliance (Alcona) and the Popular Finance Union, among others. Gatherings.

The Board of Directors was formed as follows:

President: Victor Manuel Velasquez Rangel, of Cooperativa Cruz Azul

Secretary: Salvador Torres Cisneros, Pascual Workers' Cooperative

First member: Rafael Martinez Ponce, from the National Cooperative Alliance
