The plane crashed near Jamaica

Authorities in Jamaica are investigating the crash of a small plane in the southwest of the Caribbean country this Saturday, while the search for victims or survivors is ongoing, according to local media reports.

The only thing known is that the plane went down in the northwest of the territory of St. Elizabeth.

Photos and videos on social networks show the crashed ship, completely destroyed and burned.

At this time, officials did not say where the plane took off from or where it was traveling to.

It is also not known if only one pilot was traveling or if he was accompanied by passengers.

It is the latest small plane crash in the Caribbean since four people died last Thursday off the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines when it crashed into the sea en route to the island of St. Lucia.

Among those killed in the crash were actor Christian Oliver, whose real name is Christian Klebster, his two daughters, aged 10 and 12, and the ship's pilot.

Born in Germany, but with American citizenship, Oliver had an outstanding 15-year career that saw him star in films such as 'Speed ​​Racer', 'The Good German', 'Valkyrie' and 'Indiana Jones and the Dial'. of fate'.

Oliver was traveling to the island of St. Lucia with his daughters Madita Klepser and Annick Klepser, ages 10 and 12, and pilot Robert Sacks.

The ship took off from James Mitchell Airport in Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, at around 12:00 p.m., but crashed minutes later about one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis.
