In 2023, the Bukhel government maintained its critical stance against the allegations by international organizations.

Approaches with senior officials of the state government, the signing of an agreement with the government of Qatar and the development of infrastructure projects donated by China are among the actions that stand out on the foreign policy agenda of the current government of Nayeb Bukhael in 2023.

On November 28, Buchel also held a meeting with Philip Gordon, National Security Adviser to the Vice President of the United States, who stressed the “importance of respecting human rights and due process.” State the day after the meeting.

A few days ago, the Undersecretary of Commerce, Marissa Lagos, visited the country to address the issue of direct investment and to support the work of developing a digital policy towards the goal of El Salvador becoming a regional technology hub.

Plans and contracts
On November 14, 2023, the government inaugurated the new building of the National Library of El Salvador (BINAES), one of the non-reimbursed cooperation projects provided by the People's Republic of China. On November 30, together with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yunhui, he laid the foundation stone of the National Stadium.

In September there was an official visit by Emir Tamin bin Hamad Al-Thani of the Government of Qatar. Officials of the two countries signed mutual cooperation agreements in the areas of justice, agriculture and health.
