If you want to restore the traditional way of viewing WhatsApp statuses, we explain how to do it. WhatsApp Channels is a new feature that lets you follow your favorite contacts or publications from media outlets, but they take up too much space on the home screen. How to remove channels from WhatsApp and return to regular view of statuses? We tell you.

To disable them and make the levels look vertical again, according to the tech site, you need to follow these steps, Xataka. They point out that an iPhone will be taken as an example in this case, but the steps are the same for an Android phone.

Follow these steps to change the view of channels and statuses on WhatsApp. Open WhatsApp and go to the Messages tab, where you will see the channels you follow and the statuses of your contacts. If you want to stop watching channels, enter each of them and press the three-dot button in the upper right corner. Then, select the option to not follow.

You need to repeat this process for all the channels you are following and when you are done, switch to another WhatsApp tab and return to the Messages tab. You should see the states in vertical view. If not, close and reopen WhatsApp.

“Note that channel recommendations appear below the states, and if you follow one or create your own channel, you’ll return to a horizontal view of channels and states,” they warn from the aforementioned special site.

For Cuban users who use this very popular messaging app, we remind you that starting at the end of October, WhatsApp will only be compatible with devices with at least Android 5.0 or iOS 12. If your mobile phone has an older version of these operating systems, you may not be able to access or use the application as before.
