Apple has announced its latest generation models with great fanfare iPhone 15 Pro It features a new and improved titanium chassis. The company describes the breakthrough as an “aerospace-grade titanium design” that uses “the same alloy used by the spacecraft for missions to Mars.” In particular, Apple claims that the latest Pro model devices are the lightest iPhone Pros ever released, thanks to the company’s adoption of titanium.

YouTuber JerryRigEverything has put Apple’s claims to the test and done it his own way, completely tearing apart the new iPhone 15 Pro Max. After removing the front glass and countless small screws, the YouTuber uses an angle grinder to cut the chassis in half. A cross-section of the chassis reveals that Apple has used roughly 1mm of titanium to overlay the aluminum chassis. Titanium is on the outside, aluminum is on the inside.

Not only that, but the YouTuber calculated the cost of the titanium in each iPhone 15 Pro Max and promises that it’s around $30, compared to the $1,199 the terminal costs in stores.

Despite this innovation, Apple’s engineering is still “incredibly impressive,” according to Jerry Rickeverything. Additionally, the YouTuber also analyzes the new tetraprism inside the camera, an innovation that allows for five times optical zoom.

Apple says touching the titanium iPhone 15 Pro can cause discoloration

The amount of titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro isn’t the only news this new material brings. Apparently, the color of new phones varies over time due to the contact of fingers on their surface.

The use of titanium makes the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as strong and light as a smartphone, and is a definite upgrade from the stainless steel used in the iPhone 14 Pro models. A titanium band wraps both iPhone 15 Pro models in a matte finish, which should help show less fingerprints.

Unfortunately, as Apple notes on a support page On their website, which explains how to properly clean your iPhone, fingerprints on that titanium band can have an even worse effect on the smartphone’s appearance. “For iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, oil from your skin can temporarily change the color of the outer band. Fingerprints will not damage the titanium in any way, but they will affect how light is reflected. Slight discoloration,” explains the brand.

There are three solutions to the problem. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can be worn with white cotton gloves every time you pick them up, or protected inside a case, or “cleaned frequently using a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.” As stated. As recommended by Apple.

Does titanium overheat the phone?

Another potential problem with titanium, a material not yet used in mobile telephony, is overheating.

On social networks like X (formerly Twitter), many iPhone 15 Pro owners have expressed their complaints about various issues with this latest smartphone model. These problems include High heatSlow and elegant titanium design scratches the appearance.

Fast and overheating of iPhone 15 Pro is one of the most alarming problems reported by users. The device has been observed to reach temperatures as hot as 118 degrees Fahrenheit (48 degrees Celsius), which is capable of causing a first. -class burns. This dangerous situation poses a significant risk to users, as prolonged exposure to such high temperatures can cause severe discomfort and possible damage.

Additionally, users have expressed dissatisfaction with the phone’s thermal throttling capabilities, which resulted in disappointingly slow performance during gaming. The iPhone 15 Pro fails to manage its temperature effectively, causing significant lag and hindering the user experience. This verdict is particularly disappointing considering the advanced specifications of the device and the expectations associated with its premium status.
