Peralta’s win against his former team gives the Dodgers a win in Arizona

PHOENIX — David Peralta loaded the bases to drive in two runs against his former team, breaking a scoreless tie in the eighth inning, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 on Wednesday night.

It was the fourth win for Los Angeles and Arizona suffered its eighth loss. The Diamondbacks fell below the .500 mark, their worst mark since losing their first home game of the season on April 6 to the Dodgers.

They were 3-4 at the time.

Arizona leads the NL West after leading the Dodgers by a half-game at the All-Star break. Since then, the Dodgers are 16-8 and the Diamondbacks are 5-19.

That loaded the bases for Peralta, who played his first nine seasons with Arizona. Venezuela lined a single into right field to plate Freeman and Smith.

The win went to Caleb Ferguson (6-3). Evan Phillips earned his 16th save.

For the Dodgers, Venezuela’s Peralta is 4-1 with two RBIs, while Miguel Rojas is 4-0.

For the Diamondbacks, Dominicans Ketel Marte is 3-0, Geraldo Perdomo is 3-1. 3-1 Cuba Lourdes Curiel Jr. 1-0 to Jose Herrera of Venezuela.
