Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader is suffering from a cough and fever, after testing positive for the coronavirus for the second time, First Lady Raquel Arbaje said.

However, when the president tested positive for the first time, he pointed out that the virus was “not as severe as it was 3 years ago” on this occasion.

This Tuesday night, Abinador presented a fever film that was positive for Covid-19, according to Presidential Spokesman Homero Figueroa.

He explained that the president is “in good spirits at his residence” and that the president’s agenda should be suspended until the days of quarantine are over.

This is the second time Abinador has contracted the virus. The first occurred in 2020 when he was the presidential candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).

Explanation Minister of Health

As a mild case, with symptoms similar to those of the flu process, these are the symptoms the president presents, Public Health Minister Daniel Rivera told Listin Diario newspaper.

Who said the President continues to work and is making more calls than ever from home.

“It’s like a flu process, it’s a little discharge, general discomfort, but no significant symptoms,” he said.

What has been established by Covid is that after five days of rest or isolation, the person can return to his regular work, he said, adding that even the president is convening the government council for this week.
