After talks with Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday night that all three states had agreed to a reconstruction plan for the Nagorno-Karabakh region, the DPA said. AGERPRES.

Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian said the ceasefire that ended the conflict was generally respected.

However, Pacinian said not all provisions of the ceasefire agreement had been implemented. He was particularly concerned about the issue of prisoners of war still being held in Azerbaijan.

Pasinian said the agreement reached on Monday would lead to new security guarantees. “We are ready to act constructively in this regard,” he said.

Pacinian said the political situation in Nagorno-Karabakh was still unclear and that he had been accused by opposition parties of betraying Armenian interests and that he was under pressure in the country. Armenia has ceded control of much of the region to Azerbaijan since the last armed conflict.

Alive, who had earlier praised the victory of the Azerbaijanis in the conflict, said on Monday that he hoped both sides would “find wisdom in thinking about the future and reconciliation”.

The first meeting of the working group is scheduled for January 30.

Armenia and Azerbaijan fought for the Nagorno-Karabakh team from September 27 to November 9, killing more than 4,700 people. In the early 1990s Azerbaijan claimed much of the lost territory and was mostly inhabited by Armenians. The Moscow-mediated warship is being monitored by Russian peacekeepers.
