Conviasa Airlines flies to Russia via Havana

With a weekly flight starting June 16, Venezuelan state airline Conviasa will double its offering between Caracas and Moscow.

According to the Aeroroutes site, these flights are occurring weekly; But now they will be stationed in Havana, according to official sources.

Therefore, Vnukovo Airport in Moscow, José Martí in Havana and Simon Bolívar in Caracas will be involved in the flights.

In this sense, global service to Moscow directly benefits, as it will increase to a weekly flight. In other words, one that includes Havana is added to the existing Caracas – Moscow Vnukovo service (entry via Porlamar). The latter was scheduled every two weeks.

How to book?

Bookings between Havana and Moscow are available on the airline’s website, the agency reported. In this sense, single flights between Venezuela and Russia, stopping in the Cuban capital, will be on Airbus A340.

Additionally, the airline page states that these cost over $1500.00 USD. For example, a one-way flight for June 23 costs $1,735.00 USD and a return flight scheduled for July costs $1,697.00 USD.

For its part, Canviasa State Airlines offers regular flights to Cuban tourists traveling to Nicaragua, Venezuela or St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

After a pause caused by the pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Russia and Cuba resumed some direct flights in October 2022. These mainly go to the tourist hotspots of Varadero and Cayo Coco.

Therefore, the size of the Caracas-Moscow route seeks to reactivate Russian tourism in Cuba, thus becoming a major provider of visitors.

But this is not the only innovation, because on July 1, the Russian airline Aeroflot will restart the route from Moscow to Varadero. Specifically, it will do so with an initial frequency of two weekly flights from the Russian capital to that tourist hub.
