PHOENIX — Bevin Smith hit a go-ahead, three-run homer, Dre Jameson pitched an impressive 2/3 innings in his return to the big leagues and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 7-5 on Monday night.

The Diamondbacks rallied from a 4-0 deficit with five runs in the second inning, Smith’s home run to right field. Jake McCarthy led off the inning with a two-run single.

Colorado’s Ryan McMahon hit his fourth straight home run, driving 445 feet over the center-field wall to make it 1-0. McMahon had four wins and finished the cycle just shy of a double.

The Rockies scored three runs in the second on Ezequiel Dover’s two-run double and McMahon’s RBI single.

But the T-backs lost to Rockies starter Carl Kaufman (0-3), who was playing in his third major league game. The right-hander allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks in four innings, with just one strikeout.

For the Rockies, Venezuela’s Elias Diaz is 5-2, Harold Castro is 4-0, and Ezequiel Dover is 4-2 with one run and two RBI.

For the Diamondbacks, Cuban Lourdes Curiel Jr. went 4-2 with a run and an RBI. Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rivera scored two runs to make it 4-2. Venezuela’s Gabriel Moreno made it 3-1 with an RBI. Dominican Geraldo Perdomo 4-0.
