Do you have difficulty pronouncing certain words in English and don’t know what to do to improve this language skill? Don’t worry, Google has an educational tool that will help you with this task in a simple, practical and quick way. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about it in this article, so if you want to know how to use it, keep reading!

Regarding learning or practicing a language, one of the biggest questions raised in the Google search engine is what is the correct way to pronounce a certain word, but although Google Translate has already included the horn icon, the pronunciation, as well as its representation with the international phonetic alphabet, is not so useful for everyone.

Although both issues are important to recognize the pronunciation of the word in question, the truth is that, given the differences between English and Spanish, in many cases it is not enough. For this reason, Google has implemented a tool for the search engine that makes learning the pronunciation of words much easier and faster.

It’s a “pronunciation” tool that lets you ask Google how a word is pronounced, and in doing so, it will give us text and audio of the sounds that make up that word, but not phonetically. The letters are international, but the way they sound is adapted to our own phonetics.

Likewise, it gives you an animation that shows you the way to move your lips to pronounce the spoken word, in addition, the reproduction of the sound can be slowed down, making it easier to understand the pronunciation.

As you can see, the tool promises to be very practical in recognizing the pronunciation of some words in English, especially the more complex ones. If you want to test this tool, we will give you step-by-step instructions on how to use it.

So you can learn to pronounce English easily and practically with Google

Running the Google Pronunciation tool is very easy, all you need to do is:

  • Enter Google search engine on your mobile device.
  • Put the word whose pronunciation you want to identify and add “accent” (accent) to your search.
  • When doing so, the search engine will display a tab with text telling you how the word should sound, a horn icon to play pronunciation audio, an animation showing you how to move your lips, an option to listen more slowly, and an option to listen to the pronunciation with an American or British English accent.

As you can see, this tool is very easy to use, so now you know, every time you want to recognize the pronunciation of a word in English, you can follow these steps to do it in a simple, practical and fast way.

Share science, share knowledge.
