Corona virus in Oregon: 1,048 new cases, at least six deaths a week

The Oregon Health Commission on Sunday recorded 1,048 new corona virus cases and six deaths, the smallest daily cases for more than two weeks and the lowest number of deaths in a week.

Cases and hospitals have been confirmed in Oregon since the beginning of December, which is below record levels.

But the deaths are accumulating at a record pace, with more Oregonians dying with COVID-19 in November. December will be similarly tough, even with that word The first batch of vaccines is expected to arrive Monday.

“Starting with leading health workers and those who have been severely affected by COVID-19, we will act quickly to make the vaccine available to the public,” Gov. Kate Brown said in a statement Sunday. “Please do your part to keep your family and loved ones safe – wear a mask, stay home when you are sick and avoid meetings. Together, we can do this. Hope is coming. ”

Where are the new cases based on the district: Baker (4), Benton (21), Glaucomas (112), Clotchap (3), Columbia (15), Goose (11), Crook (7), Curry (14), Dishes (39), Douglas (20), Hood River (13), Jackson (90), Jefferson (17), Josephine (11), Clemat (28), Lake (1), Lane (88), Lincoln (12), Lynn (24), Malhoor (4) , Marion (150), Morrow (4), Multnoma (172), Polk (15), Dillamukh (1), Umatila (36), Union (2), Vasco (9), Washington (108) and Yamhill (17) .

New deaths: The 74-year-old Jackson County woman, Oregon’s 1,150th death associated with the corona virus, has basic medical conditions. He tested positive on November 10 and died on December 11 at Providence Medford Medical Center.

The 1,151st death was 91-year-old Josephine County man, who tested positive for Dec. 4 and died Dec. 10 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. Authorities determine if he had basic health conditions.

The 1,152-year-old 76-year-old Lynn County woman, who died in Oregon, tested positive after she died Dec. 3. 2. The authorities check the place where he died and if he has basic medical conditions.

1,153rd death 98-year-old Marion County man. He tested positive December 1 and died on December 12 at his home.

Oregon’s 1,154th death 94-year-old Washington County woman with basic medical conditions. He tested positive December 3 and died at his home on December 10.

1,155th death 87-year-old Washington County man. He tested positive on November 25 and died on December 11 at his home.

State officials also announced Sunday that the 1,036th death of a 77-year-old Lynn County woman from Oregon was a mistake. The woman did not die and the death was removed from the state count.

Prevalence of Infections: State officials reported 1,420 positive tests out of 19,410, which equates to a 7.3% positive rate.

Who is in the hospital: 535 Oregonians are currently hospitalized with confirmed corona virus infections, down from 12 on Saturday. Of those, 125 are in intensive care, six from Saturday.

Since its inception: Oregon reported 93,853 confirmed or presumed infections and 1,155 deaths, the lowest in the country. To date, the government has reported electronic laboratory results for 2,287,574 corona virus tests.
