By Jesus Pérez Vichot (Suchy).

Famous journalist John Heyman wrote Article for the New York Post There he predicts that he is the hottest baseball player Shohei Ohtani He could become the first man in MLB to be signed for $500 million. In a letter published in the thirteenth oldest newspaper published in the United States, “Showtime” describes the points that made it necessary to sign on for such a large sum.

First, Heyman points to the largest position player contract ever signed by the new single-season home run record holder in the AL, Yankee outfielder Aaron Judge ($360 million who turned down a $400 million offer from the Padres). Arguably, these winter deals were fast and big.

Heyman mentions Trey Turner’s contracts ($300 million with the Phillies, rejecting the Padres’ $342 million offer) and Xander Bogaerts’ contracts ($280 million with the Padres, signing up for the contract after exercising his opt-out option). Carlos Correa ($350 million first with the Giants and then $315 million with the Mets) and Masataka Yoshida ($90 million, a record for a Japanese free agent position).

Given this whole big contract trend, Heyman thinks the Japanese two-way phenom (Ohtani) will land a deal for at least $500 million next winter. What the Japanese do on the field of play is something that has never been seen before (except for Babe Ruth).

Ohtani is a skilled baseball player who can throw like the best and hit at a slugger level to be feared. He is the classic example of a future baseball player. He’ll be a free agent next season, and Heyman’s prediction could pay off. The 28-year-old’s chances of signing for $500 million or more are very credible.
