BUENOS AIRES, AUGUST 7 (EFE): Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero agreed, Sunday, with his Chilean counterpart Antonia Origola, to continue “work to clarify” the flights from Chile that were spotted in Argentine airspace without obtaining the appropriate permits.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry stated on its Twitter account that between 27 and 28 July, according to Argentine information, five flights from Chile “irregularly used the national airspace without obtaining the corresponding permits that must be issued by the authorities.” Both countries.

Cafiero and Orejola met on Sunday in Bogota, before the inauguration of Colombian President Gustavo Petro.

“Both expressed that Argentina and Chile confirmed their desire to increase mutual trust and affirmed that in the upcoming meetings they will continue to progress and work to clarify the facts,” the Argentine Foreign Ministry said on Twitter.

The Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs had requested information from Chile last Wednesday, through its embassy in that country, regarding flights monitored by the Joint Space Command of the Argentine Ministry of Defense without obtaining similar flight permits.

The query was born after it was found that the Argentine Ministry of Defense informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that it had monitored these five flights via the radar located in Cabo Domingo in the city of Rio Grande in the southern province of Tierra del Fuego. EFE
