A tropical wave will start raining tonight

The National Meteorological Center (SNM) in San Juan said that a tropical wave will begin to move over the Puerto Rico region starting tonight.

According to the agency, the rain is forecast to continue until Monday morning, however, dust from the Sahara desert will arrive later in the afternoon.

“A tropical wave will bring showers and thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday morning, which will have the biggest impact on E-PR and the USVI. Saharan dust and dry air will cause fair weather and hazy skies Monday,” SNM said.

Rain is concentrated in the east of the island and thunderstorms are reported in the west.

The Meteorological Department has warned that the heat index will reach 100 degrees.
