Cuban baseball player Edaine Roman Mora, a veteran of the National Series with Mayabeque, crashed near the border crossing between Mexico and the United States.

The Kubalite site noticed that the native of the municipality of Mayabeque, Matruka, was involved in a delicate situation on the road, according to the social networks of his sports club.

The agency announced that the sports manager and three of his players, including Roman, were involved in a brawl while returning home after a tour against Marineros de Ensenada.

“According to a Sonoran Border Police report, four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at Avenida 16 de Septimbre and Calle 29 early Friday morning, July 1. “The baseball players were traveling in a white truck – a Dodge Ram pickup, as a result of which three players were injured, while the driver of the other vehicle – a Honda brand, fled,” a local media reported.

It emerged that the incidents took place around 8 am and the players’ car overturned after receiving a heavy impact.

The player of four seasons in Cuban baseball, along with the typhoon, delivered severe blows that forced him to take him to the nearest general hospital. He remained there for a few hours until he was discharged without life-threatening injuries.

“Thank God I’m healthy, a little bruised, sore, a little fracture in my wrist, but thank God I’m fine. We’ll see how the recovery goes. Thank you for your concern.” Roman said to the Cublite.

The athlete, who turns 29 next Saturday, July 10, became the third Antillean to play in the Guatemala Winter Baseball League the previous year with the Marineros.

Roman immigrated legally to Nicaragua, the first place he tried to break into as a professional. He last missed out on pre-season with Tigres de Sinanteca. He couldn’t stay long at an academy in Pino Nation, and his desire to sign a contract with a Major League organization was frustrated.

That led him to Mexico, where he has had connections with various intermediate leagues in that country in recent times. Although he was at the gates of the Mexican summer circuit forming a solid team of Olmecas de Tabasco and Alcotoneros de Union Laguna.

He was finally able to achieve that goal for 2022, when he made the grade with San Luis in the Northern League, where he became one of the top performing hitters.
