(CNN Spanish) — Boni, the third hurricane in the Pacific this season, strengthened to a Category 3 on Tuesday, Mexico’s National Water Authority (Conagua) said.

As a storm, Boni made landfall in the Caribbean on the Costa Rica-Nicaragua border on Friday, left little damage, and entered the Pacific on Saturday, entering the Gulf of Mexico.
