His departure from Derek Jetter and Marlins may have been another reason Baseball123

Derek Jetter’s departure from the Miami Marlins is said to be the result of owner Bruce Sherman’s decision rather than Jetter’s decision.

The Miami Herald quotes Barry Jackson as saying that it was difficult for Sherman to fire Jetter in public.

So mutual farewell was discussed. The former shortstop contract has one year left and is not going to get an extension.

For their part, Jetter’s support group weighed in on the news that the team had changed its mind to spend at least $ 10 million this season, but one group source privately denied it.

This Monday, a member of the Hall of Fame announced that he was not going to continue with the group in Little Havana.

“Today I announce that Miami Marlins and I are officially ending our relationship and I will no longer serve as the club’s CEO or partner,” Jetter said in a statement. “Five years before Marlins’ right to change ownership, we, as CEO, were proud to put my name and reputation on the line to make our plan a reality. Through hard work, trust and responsibility, we have transformed every aspect of ownership, redesigned employees and created a long-term strategic plan for success. “It simply came to our notice then.

“The owner’s vision for the future is different from the one I signed to lead. This is the perfect time for me to step aside as the new season begins,” he continued.

“I want to thank our wonderful staff, Marlins fans, Marlins players and the large Miami community for welcoming us with open arms and making my home feel like home. Today the organization is stronger than it was five years ago.” I am grateful to be a part of this team, “he added.
