OAS calls for new emergency session to resolve crisis in Nicaragua

The Permanent Council of American States (OAS) convened a new emergency session this Wednesday, December 8, from a “joint assessment” by the regional body on the crisis in Nicaragua, in which a new plan will be addressed. Resolution indicating non-compliance with the rules of the regime Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo are the mandates established in the US-American Constitution.

The draft resolution is promoted by OAS permanent missions in Canada, Antigua and Barbuda, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana and the United States. The draft resolution first demonstrates that Nicaragua “does not live up to the promises made in the Inter-American Constitution.” He also reiterated his commitment to the Ortega regime to release all political prisoners and to “accept the top good office work approved by the OAS Permanent Council.”

This task seeks to negotiate an agreement that would lead to the following: “Implementing comprehensive electoral reforms in accordance with the requirements of previous OAS resolutions and compliance with Nicaragua’s obligations under international law; With reliable international monitoring ”.
