In the aftermath of this incident, CEOs Brad Smith and Lisa Brommel met Gates and told him that this behavior was inappropriate and should be stopped.

At the meeting, the defendant did not deny the exchanges and promised to stop writing to the company official.

The executives briefed some members of the Microsoft Board of Directors and a committee of the Board discussed the matter. The board concluded that further action was not justified because there was no physical interaction, ”the article says with The Wall Street Journal.

Meanwhile, Bridget Arnold, a spokeswoman for Bill Gates, denied the alleged inappropriate exchange. “These allegations are false, circulated from sources that have no direct knowledge, and in some cases have significant conflicts of interest,” he said in a press release.
