The aircraft will accommodate 40 passengers and have a range of 1,850 km.

German clean aviation companies H2Fly and Deutsche Aircraft have decided to join forces to develop hydrogen fuel cell aircraft. It accommodates 40 people. The commercial aircraft is scheduled to be built in 2030, while the first test flights will take place in 2025. New Atlas.

The device will have a range of 1850 kilometers and will reach a cruising speed 520 km/h.

The project will be developed from conventional fuel Dornier 328 aircraft serving regional flights. Dornier Standard 328 Weighs 9100 kg It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney turbine engines totaling 1625 kW. Once equipped with hydrogen cells, the experimental aircraft will deploy a 1,500-kilowatt (2,012 hp) fuel cell that the companies say will make it the most powerful hydrogen jet in history.

The developers have extensive experience in this field. In fact, H2Fly has already developed the HY4 from the world’s first all-electric Pipistrel Taurus Electro G4 aircraft which made its maiden flight in 2016 at a speed of 200 km/h and has a working range of 750 to 1500 km/h.
