Cleveland native Taylor Spears, 20, is expected to run for the title of Miss Rodeo Oklahoma from July 19-22 in Woodward, in conjunction with the 87th annual Woodward Elks Rodeo.
Spears is a junior agriculture communications major at Oklahoma State University and a member of the OSU Spirit Rider team, which performs with the school’s beloved quarterhorse mascot, Bullet, at college football games.
She also has appeared on RFD-TV as a host for shows about ranch and rodeo life and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Spears is the former National High School Rodeo Queen and has competed in the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma pageant before at the princess, sweetheart and teen levels, winning all three titles. If she were to win Miss Rodeo Oklahoma, she would be one of the first to have held all division titles.
Spears is the current Miss Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo Queen, the title she will represent going into the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma competition.
“I am so humbled to have the support of the community and am so excited to represent Cleveland, Oklahoma at the state level pageant one more time,” Spears said. “This is a dream come true to be competing for Miss Rodeo Oklahoma and I wouldn’t have this opportunity without each and every one of you.”
The Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council is hosting the Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Pageant committee is hosting a “People’s Choice Award” voting on Facebook. Everyone is encouraged to go vote by “liking” Spears’ photo on the Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council Inc.’s Facebook page. To vote for Taylor, go “like the Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council Inc. Facebook page and then “like” her picture.
The Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council is a 501c(3) organization that provides life experiences and education for the women of Oklahoma within the western way of life. The representative selected for Miss Rodeo Oklahoma will compete for Miss Rodeo America.
