This is the experience that promises to get to Puerto Rico with help Urban Link Air Mobilityan Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company, has ordered 27 new seaplanes from manufacturer Regent Craft to begin operations on the island and Miami.
Operations in both markets will begin in 2027, according to a press release published by the two companies.
The agreement between the two parties stipulates that UrbanLink will operate Regent's Viceroy seaplanes, which can accommodate up to 12 passengers. The plane, powered by electric motors, travels at speeds of up to 180 miles per hour and is capable of serving routes of up to 180 miles on a single charge.

He added: “With the increasing demand for gliders, this agreement brings us closer to realizing their potential to improve current transportation systems and people’s lives.”
Seaplanes, according to the companies, utilize existing port infrastructure, while further enhancing connectivity and shipping options.

According to Wegel, the Urban Link order “perfectly complements our previous commitment to electric marine vessels, all of which will integrate seamlessly with our all-electric aircraft, expanding our reach and improving connectivity in the regions we serve.”
UrbanLink did not specify expected demand in Puerto Rico, but confirmed that its new seaplanes could serve up to 4.3 million passengers annually in Miami, Florida.
A recent Regent survey found that 88% of Miami residents would like to use a seaplane for regional coastal trips.
