It has already been confirmed that LATAM Airlines will increase its flight frequencies to Cuba starting next April. The news is in stark contrast to what Aerolíneas Argentinas decided.
The latter announced the official cancellation of its voyages to the island. Its directors' justification was that their company had incurred significant losses on voyages between Cuba and Argentina.
The reality is that LATAM wants to expand its flights to Cuba and connect the island with more destinations in South America and the Caribbean. The new frequency includes a flight on Saturdays, joining the existing flight service to Havana on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. In all cases flights will arrive from Lima International Airport in Peru.
LATAM returned in October
After a three-year interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the well-known airline LATAM resumed its flights between Peru and Cuba on October 29. The route between Lima and Havana is operated by Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft with a capacity of 138 passengers.
This route is an absolute advantage for LATAM customers and those who decide to try its options for the first time. Thereby, Cuba's connection with other countries in the region is facilitated.
LATAM is the largest Chilean-Brazilian airline in Latin America and operates flights to several continents. As for flights between Lima and Havana, they last about five hours.
Departs Lima at 9:15am local time and arrives in Havana at 2:15pm local time. Meanwhile, return flights from Jose Marti International Airport will depart at 4:15pm Cuba time. Arrival in Lima, Peru is scheduled at approximately 9:40 AM.
