Lawmakers are working to make sure the memory of former Pawnee County Undersheriff Monty Johnson is honored in a lasting way.

 House Bill 2311, which is a transportation bill that will allow sections of state highways and bridges to be named after notable people who have died, includes a swath of Highway 18 designated in Johnson’s memory.
