Abel Horton

Abel “Gus” Horton accepted a plea deal on Monday for the heinous hatchet murder of Eric Hartung.

Osage County District Attorney Mike Fisher says Horton pleaded guilty to killing Hartung with a hatchet in Hominy, then wrapping his body in a rug and dumping the body along Prue Road in January 2017. In exchange for his plea, Horton will spend life in prison without the possibility of parole, and he waived all appellate rights, Fisher said.
