Motorists have, no doubt, noticed road crews are working near the highway and bridge just south of Cleveland near Walmart and the Harbor Village Apartments. Crews are working on a detour bridge for the area at the Cleveland MKT trail. A spokesperson for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT)said traffic is expected to shift by late spring, which will allow for the old bridge to be removed and replaced. At a second bridge, the Cedar Creek bridge, ODOT is waiting on an utility line to be relocated from the bridge. Once that’s complete, ODOT says we’ll see more activity at this location. The new bridges will be built a portion at a time, which will allow for traffic to continue to move through the corridor during the work. This is an $11 million project to improve the US-64/SH-99 junction. The overall project is expected to be complete by late summer, weather permitting.
