With a nod to the local newspaper and its celebration of 100 years of publishing hometown news, Saturday’s Pioneer Day parade theme was “A Century of Headlines. The Cleveland American and the Ferguson family were honored as grand marshals in the 2 p.m. parade. Following the parade, the public was invited to the newspaper office for a piece of birthday cake. Cleveland Scouts served as the Color Guard for the Pioneer Day parade. The community day of camaraderie had a full schedule of events. Turn to page 11 for a glimpse of scenes from the day, which was sponsored by the City of Cleveland.
